Colorado with Leanna and Julie October 12-15, 2016

After spending a week with Jill and Beckham in Washington, I flew straight to Colorado Springs to spend a few days with Leanna. Julie joined us on Wednesday night, and we spent a fun couple of days doing LOTS of hiking and a little biking.  It was really fun!

Tuesday night was Eden's date night, so she let me hang out with her and Leanna. She chose to go on a hike (which was really great) and then we had frozen yogurt at LuLu's (which was also awesome!)

Wednesday was cold and cloudy, so Leanna and I opted to stay home, look at choir music for my new calling, do some mending, and make cookies.  It was all good.

Wednesday night we picked up Julie from the Colorado Springs Airport, and Thursday and Friday we packed full of hiking and biking.  Lots of gorgeous pictures.  Our first hike was the Garden of the Gods Park.  Loved it!!
Do you like our cool, matching hiking shirts?

Thursday afternoon we went to the Air Force Academy and toured the chapel there.  It was pretty futuristic.

Thursday afternoon Mike joined us for a hike up to a lake. The hike started right there on base. It was a pretty difficult hike. I felt bad for Leanna carrying that baby! She's a trooper!

Friday we decided to go on a short hike up to Helen Hunt Falls. The only problem was the hiking trail was closed when we got there. But that didn't deter us!  After eating our packed lunch, we found an alternate much-less-used trail on the other side which took us up to the same lookout. However, it was very steep and pretty dangerous.  Once again I thought, what are we doing with this baby?? Marcus was such a trooper (gets it from his mother)! It was quite an adventure!

Then we ended the day with a 17-mile bike ride. The first and end of it were awesome!

I was pooped when we got to the end. We definitely got our exercise over those couple of days!  So fun to be with sisters!  Let's do it again!
Gotta love this hair!  Marcus rocks!

Bear Lake Girl Trip 2016

July 22-23, 2016

While Leanna was here we decided to go on a Bear Lake Girl Trip with Mom, Leanna, Julie and I. (Marcus got to come along as well). We had such a good time. We left Friday Morning and stopped in Logan to do a bit of shopping at Down East and at Ross's. We all came away with a few fun things.  We ate lunch at Chick Fil a. I enjoyed my chicken wrap there. Then we headed for Julie's cabin in Bear Lake. We unpacked and spent a few minutes on the deck visiting and reading. Julie and Leanna made us a delicious dinner of salmon and bruchetta. Then we went to Pickleville and saw "Hairspray" which kept us totally entertained.

That night mom cooked us some popcorn and it was royally burnt. We had to hold it out the window on the way to the trash.

Saturday morning we rented a 4-person bike (surry) and went on a fun pedal trip around on the bike lane.

We got refreshments from a lemonade stand and had a good laugh as we pedaled around for a bit. Then we took off for Bloomington Lake. Leanna had never been there. We enjoyed our packed lunch there and then hiked to the lakes.

Leanna gave us all Mount Fuju t-shirts. So we decided to all wear them that day. Very fun.

It was full of people enjoying the holiday there. There were tons of people using the rope swing and jumping off of the cliffs. They kept us entertained.
On the way back we stopped at Jay's cabin and enjoyed the view there for a while before heading back to Julie's to pack up our things. We met Jay and family at Cafe Sabor where we had dinner and then went across the street for a delicious shake at La Beau's.

The time went way too fast!  We need an extra day next year. But it was oh so fun!
